Products..... On the recommendation of their key confectionery supplier, we were approached by Harrods with a request to create product descriptions for a group of new items being introduced into their own-brand ambient food products. Joanne Stewart, Signature buyer was so delighted with the results of the initial project that we were then asked to produce descriptions and tasting notes for a further 200 products.
“Thank you for all your help with this project, it’s been a huge job and your input has made it much easier.” Joanne Stewart, Harrods, Signature Products buyer
Marketing .... The British Potato Council wanted to run a series of cookery road shows in shopping centres and town centres across the UK. Their aim was to demonstrate simple, healthy ways to use potatoes in a variety of meals, appealing to a wide range of consumers. Not Just Food developed recipes, supplied home economists to cook at each location and worked with the logistics company to ensure the demonstration kitchens and their content met all legal as well as health and safety requirements. In addition to demonstrating recipes, giving out consumer taster samples and chatting with the public about the many and varied uses of potatoes, the team also visited local radio stations and spoke to journalists at each location to get the message out to a wider audience.
“We choose to work with Not Just Food because of their knowledge of nutrition, healthy eating, because they are known for organising enthusiastic and interesting cookery demonstrations and because they are completely comfortable speaking to media about their work on our behalf...“
Susan Tolman, British Potato Council
Project Management....Metropolis asked us to manage the judging process for the Quality Food Awards 2010. Not Just Food took care of everything from finding a new venue for the testing with kitchens, chilled storage and a restaurant area for industry expert judges to sample each of the 850 products in, over a two week schedule. Our team of 23 staff managed the process from sample delivery, through food preparation to presentation of each product to the judges. We arranged for the shortlisted children's products to be judged at St Cuthbert's School Earls Court and set up a partnership with FareShare to distribute any leftover food to hostels and shelters. It's been a great success and we are already working on the plans for 2011 with Metropolis.

Recipes ... We work with companies creating recipes for back of packs as well as for websites, and promotional leaflets. We also test and trouble-shoot recipes written by others, before they are published. Our large team of recipe writers are trained to work to our house style (unless clients specifically request their own preferred style and measurement) which means we can create or check a large number of recipes in a relatively short space of time. This makes us a popular choice with our regular clientele of manufacturers and publishers who are often working to tight deadlines and know we’ll invariably meet them.
“Excellent, many thanks again for taking this on at such short notice.” Dan Mills Editor, Lifestyle, Dorling Kindersley.
